DuPont Zodiac countertops, made with pure quartz crystals, offer both beauty and strength. The material is durable, heat resistant and stain resistant. It retains the original look for years without the need for sealing or waxing.
Zodiac countertops are sold in a wide variety of colors, from neutrals to deeps blues and reds. You can also choose between two thicknesses and among a number of backsplash and edging designs.
Zodiaq Countertop Average Costs #
The price of a Zodiaq countertop is influenced by many factors, including color, thickness (2 CM or 3 CM) and the type of edging you select. Optional features like a sink or a backsplash run extra.
If you have about 30 square feet of counter space, plan on spending anywhere from about $1,500 to more than $4,000 for DuPont Quartz countertops.
- According to Dupont's price estimator, 30 square feet of countertop in Abyss Black with a basic beveled edge, no backsplash and no sink would cost about $1,500 to $2,000.
- The same countertop and feature selection for a kitchen with 40 square feet of counters would run about $1,900 to $2,700. For 20 square feet of counters, the price would be $1,000 to $1,350.
- A 30 square foot countertop in Black Forest with a 10 square foot backsplash, a fancier bullnose edge and a double bowl sink would cost about $2,900 to $4,100.
Keep in mind, however, that Dupont's prices are merely estimates. The company does not sell directly to the consumer, so you'll have to contact your local dealer for a precise estimate of material and installation costs.
Zodiac Countertop Features #
Beveled edges come standard with all Dupont Zodiac Quartz countertops. If you'd like to upgrade to a fancier edge such a bullnose or large ogee, add $10 per square foot. Zodiac has seven edge designs from which to choose.
If you purchase a sink through Dupont, plan to spend about $550 to $650 extra. Single bowls have an MSRP of $550 and double bowls have an MSRP of $650.
Standard Zodiac countertops are 2 CM thick. If you'd like to upgrade to 3 CM, budget several hundred dollars extra.
Zodiac Countertop Care and Maintenance #
One of the greatest benefits to Zodiac countertops is their heat- and stain-resistant qualities. However, that does not mean it is impossible to damage the countertop. To be safe, always use a cutting board and hot pads.
Cleaning a Zodiac countertop is simple. You can simply use a damp cloth or paper towel to wipe away surface stains and food debris. If necessary, you can also use a small amount of non-bleach kitchen cleaner.
Zodiac countertops come with a 10-year limited warranty. However, not every type of damage is covered. Be sure to read the fine print before making a purchase to find out what kind of damage is covered, and to understand circumstances that render the warranty void.
