How Much Does a GMC Savanna Cost?

GMC Savanna Car Prices

With a group of powerful engines and seating for up to 15 passengers the 2011 GMC Savana passenger van is the perfect vehicle for those people who do a lot of driving around. It is a great choice for the individual that regularly needs to haul around a small army of kids. Plus, in a pinch, the Savana can double as an impressive tower and cargo hauler. This is about as big as it gets for a vehicle. If a Savana van can't handle your crew then you might want to start pricing buses.

Body Styles and Trim Levels

There are numerous body style options for the 2011 GMC Savana. They consist of the ton 1500, the ton 2500, or the 1 ton 3500. You also have a choice between the 135-inch regular wheel base and 155-inch extended wheel base models.

The Savana passenger van is available in two trims: the LS and LT. The LS's amenities are relatively sparse. For example, the bare bones 1LS gives you single-zone manual A/C, AM/FM stereo, front bucket seats and vinyl upholstery. The LT trims, on the other hand, are slightly more refined. Choose the LT and you'll get auxiliary rear air-conditioning and heating, chrome appearance package, power accessories, tilt-steering, cruise control, remote keyless entry, and cloth upholstery. Other optional equipment includes a remote starter system, a smoker's package, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with mounted audio controls, Bluetooth connectivity for phones, and a rear-window electric defogger.

Powertrain options abound in the 2011 GMC Savana, with four different V8 engines offered. The base engine is a 4.8-liter, 280 horsepower FlexFuel V8 (FlexFuel engines are able to run off of a combination of gasoline and ethanol) paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Next up is the 5.3-liter, 310 horsepower FlexFuel V8 (four-speed automatic with overdrive). Then, there's a 6.0-liter, 323 horsepower FlexFuel V8 (six-speed automatic). Finally, GMC offers a 6.6-iter, 260 horsepower turbodiesel V8 (six-speed automatic). Properly equipped, the Savana passenger van can tow up to 9,900 pounds and handle a payload of 3,461 pounds. Rear-wheel drive is standard on all models, and all-wheel drive is optional on 1500 1LS and 1LT models.

There's not much to say about the exterior of the 2011 GMC Savana. The design is sleek and simple; about what you'd expect from a vehicle that is built for utility. A swing-out, 60/40 split passenger side door is standard, while a sliding door is available. The rear doors swing out wide to make loading luggage and other cargo a snap.

The interior favors function over form in a good way. All available accessories are intuitively laid out. The Savana offers space for between 8 and 15 passengers depending on the model and seating configuration chosen.

For a 15-passenger hauling machine the GMC Savana drives and handles relatively well. This is thanks to a front independent suspension that features stabilizer bars (on RWD models) and torsion bars (on AWD models). Both AWD and RWD models have a rear suspension with multifleaf springs. Even even with a full load, it's fairly smooth.

Standard safety equipment includes four-wheel antilock disc brakes, StabiliTrak (traction control and stability enhancement), daytime running lights, front driver and passenger airbags, side-curtain airbags for the first three rows of passenger seating, and OnStar (with Automatic Crash Response, Crisis Assist, and Emergency Services).

The 2011 GMC Savana offers maximum seating capacity for a relatively low price. More importantly, the Savana offers a broad range of configurations that lets you mix and match size and power to meet your needs. Whether you require a vehicle of this size to transport family, friends, students, co-workers, or strangers, the GMC Savana is up to the task
